Gail Kim & Mickie James b Maryse & Alicia Fox when Kim pinned Maryse after a kick to the face. Some really funny crowd reactions all night. Most of the people in my section at ringside were asking when did Gail Kim come from TNA. It was clear all night that a very small percentage of the fans here watch Smackdown, ECW or Superstars.

Despite the conceited Canadian’s efforts to seemingly avoid Mickie James, the Divas Champion must now face her rival one-on-one in a title match at Night of Champions.

For her part, the four-time Women’s Champion persevered match after match, defeating Maryse in singles and tag team competitions, resolute in her determination to face the Divas Champion for an opportunity at gold. That perseverance finally paid off when Mickie became the No. 1 contender to the Divas Championship after defeating three other Divas in a Fatal Four Way Match: Kelly Kelly, Beth Phoenix and Rosa Mendes. During that match, Mickie displayed the fortitude that has made her such a looming threat to Maryse.

To imply that Maryse will not put up a hard-charging defense, however, would be not only premature but foolish. With athleticism to match her beauty, Maryse has proven resourceful, cunning and willing to do just about anything to retain her place atop the Divas division. She may need to summon all of those traits in order to fend off her rival at Night of Champions.

What will happen when these sexy, smart and powerful ladies collide? Can Mickie finally capitalize on her long-awaited title opportunity? Or will Maryse use all of her craftiness to her retain her championship?

Fatal-4-Way // Kelly vs Mickie vs Beth Phoenix vs Rosa Mendes w/ Maryse on commentary.
All the divas in the ring go after each other and start wrestling but the King starts talking about The Miz to Maryse. She says he’s so in love with her like everyman but Maryse soon brushes off the subject. Maryse also mentions that she feels that Beth is good whilst Mickie and Kelly start facing off in the ring. Maryse laughs at Mickie and says shes so not scared of her. Maryse says Kellys pretty but not as pretty as her. Beth comes in and clothesline Kelly and Mickie. Beth pins Mickie. 1..2 kick out! Beth pins Kelly. 1..2 kick out! Rosa goes to hit Beth but Beth sees. Mickie blotches a move and does a really weird hold until Rosa gets her into a headlock, then Kelly jumps on Rosa and puts a headlock on her too. Beth then spears them all into the ring post. Beth dominates again. Maryse starts talking about Michelle being her number 1 fan. All the divas starts pinning themselves. Beth then body slams Rosa and pins but Kelly breaks it up. Kelly and Mickie double team Beth. Mickie gets Beth to the outside and kicks her off the edge making Beth hit her head on the steel steps. Mickie hits her ddt on Rosa and goes for the pin.

Winner: Mickie James (No.1 Contender)

Mickie comes to the outside and stares Maryse down. Mickie has Maryse trapped. Maryse just laughs at Mickie and tells her to stay back. Mickie just laughs and walks away.

Maryse is currently the longest reigning champion currently holding a title in the WWE. As we all know, she won the divas championship back on the 26th Decemeber, 2008. It has been over 6 months that she has held that title. No other current champion has held their current championship as long as 6 months over than Maryse! Congratulations girl!

- She said that the American and European cultures were quite different, as she could notice the difference pretty quickly once in the arena, even though her being a French Canadian. She admitted enjoying her time in Europe more than in the States.

- She also stated it was easier for her to have people hate her than love her, possibly because of her look, and because she is not trying to be friendly, owing that to her strong personality.

- She said she may be expecting a gimmick turn in 18-24 months in order to become a face.
